The best road bike tires!
With so many different kinds of tyres and so many types of road bikes, how do you choose?
There are specialized bike tyres for the front, back, wet/dry, winter conditions and tyres that try to do a little bit of everything.
So to say “this road bike tyre is the best” might not be in your best interests. Every road bike rider has different requirements!
Wet weather road bike riders should use a slightly wider tire for better handling and cornering.
For those roadies that ride in the bush, you need kevlar reinforced tires!
The slight increase in weight is a small penalty, compared to fixing 10 punctures on a small stretch of debris riddled road!
Since everyone’s circumstances are different, to say “what is the best road bike tyre” is not feasible!
Consider the types of conditions you’ll be riding in and choose appropriately.
A word of caution, skimping on tires is not a good idea! The best road bike tyres are a very important part of the bike.
A word to the wise, usually you get what you pay for, and paying for a low quality tyre, just to save money is a very bad idea! However paying less for a great tyre is what we do! So don’t confuse the two!
